New cloud jobs
According to a recent survey the company more and more companies of all shapes and sizes choose cloud solutions and this creates new categories of jobs and new breeds of IT vendors.
This is the result of a survey released by CompTIA, the IT vendor industry association, conducted on 500 IT and business professionals and 400 IT firms.
More than three out of five companies as well as IT vendors and consultant are adding new types of IT skillsets to keep up with growing cloud requirements. Required skills include private cloud developers and administrators, departmental liaisons, integration specialists, cloud architects, and compliance specialists.
In addition, three fourths of the IT service suppliers state they are increasing their vendor-neutral credentials showcasing knowledge and expertise in cloud computing.
At the same time, the rise of cloud has a positive effect on IT employment: new jobs are created and new roles inside the companies are necessary to keep IT department up with cloud computing. As a result, two -thirds of companies undergoing an IT department restructuring also reported that their IT staff had taken training to build new skills.
At the same time, the IT department is undergoing a major transformation: from coding and monitoring to more of a consulting role.
IT managers need to design go-to-market strategy and identify technology resources that will help the strategy materialize in the fastest and most efficient way possible.
Besides, about 21% of enterprises (mainly large and medium-sized companies) have contracted with a third party for cloud transitions.
