External enterprise social networks are aimed to develop customer service, promote marketing campaigns for products or events and create partner sales support. Salesforce communities enables users to capture data from the social networks and add it to existing CRM files: it fosters sales leads generation, customer support improvement and team involvement in product development.
Only requirement for a company wanting to create its online community is the possession of a Salesforce.com licence, while there are no limitation for partners and customers.
