Cloud computing goes to Mars
The use of cloud computing is increasing day after day and recently it has also been employed in aerospace applications!
In recent Mars Exploration Rover and Mars Science Laboratory missions, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory deployed cloud solution to capture and store images and metadata collected during the trip to Mars.
NASA has benefited from cloud computing capacity to provide cost effective power as an alternative to their data centers.
This solution not only allowed them to scale contents in order to meet the global demand for viewing, but it also proves public cloud can be employed in all sectors and in companies of all sizes.
