WEEE to recycle more
An EU electronic waste law has recently come into force in the UK and it will gradually be extended to all EU countries over the next seven years.
As a consequence retailers will be required to take back, free-of-charge, old electronic equipment in order to recycle materials (such as gold, silver, copper, rare metals as well as hazardous substances) contained in TVs, laptops and mobile phones Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) is very important, but at the moment only one-third of it is separately collected and appropriately treated; with this rule it is aimed to reach 85%.
By keeping WEEE separate from other waste it can be treated, the hazardous substances can be removed and a large amount of waste can be recycled rather than sent to landfill.
Elatos Web business management software you can manage WEEE, too.
